On the occasion of summer solstice 2017 the english stained glass artist Brian Clarke has shown new fantastic screens made of hand-blown glasses. The Munich Studios Gustav van Treeck hand-crafted the art works “Leipzig” und “Lincoln’s Inn”.
The glass panes of the screens are made of hand-blown flashed glasses. The glass painters attended them exactly towards the artistic original with screen printing and etching technologies. Requests for the artworks via the artist’s gallery.

London-based photographic artist G. Roland Biermann has been showing new photographs on glass at the gallery of Bayerische Hofglasmalerei. These works from Biermann’s snow+concrete series have been produced at the workshops earlier this year.
The starting point of snow+concrete can be seen as a literal juxtaposition of snow and concrete. Biermann’s constructed scenes show snow in an underground car park, a transient, ephemeral matter in the confines of a permanent concrete structure. As the snow melts, Biermann records this process of transformation with the photographic camera.
His images highlight the preciousness of all things transient. Here, it is the light and airy nature of the snow, the purity of the white and its ever changing shape and form.
The collaboration with our workshops is the first project where Biermann works on glass. The exhibits reveal a wealth of new, exciting possibilities in the combination of photography and glass. At the exhibition, four polyptychs from the snow+concrete series, snow+concrete X, XII, XIII and VIV, will be shown in a combination of fused glass and digital printing techniques. The images gain an almost three-dimensional depth and seem to be ‘more immediate’.

G. Roland Biermann was born in Bonn in 1962. He lives and works in London. With his photographic work Biermann explores uncertainty, ambivalence and transformation, situations where reality and fiction merge, often in the form of polyptychs and larger sequences of images.
In the past, Biermann has received grants eg from the German Foreign Office (Think German, 2010), Arts Council England (2005) and Goethe-Institut London (2004). He is the only artist in over 30 years to win the Weissblechkalender project by ThyssenKrupp, a worldwide- unique, exclusive arts calendar printed on tinplate, twice (2007 and 2010).
His works are included in national and international collections, eg ThyssenKrupp, Dusseldorf and Signy+Olaf Willums Art Foundation, Provence. Recent solo exhibitions include Goethe-Institut Paris (2011), German Embassy London (2010/11) and Dommuseum Frankfurt (2010). G. Roland Biermann is represented by Myriam Blundell_Projects, London.
